Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Chipmunk Adventure is a 1987 feature-length movie starring the Chipmunks from the popular 1980s Saturday morning cartoon "Alvin and the Chipmunks." When Dave Seville (Ross Bagdasarian Jr) goes on a trip to Europe and leaves the Chipmunks behind, Alvin (Ross Bagdasarian Jr) enters himself and his brothers Simon (Ross Bagdasarian Jr) and Theodore (Janice Karman) in an unscrupulous hot air balloon race around the world organized by the sinister Claudia Furschtien (Susan Tyrral). Not to be outdone, the Chippettes also get in on the action, competing for the $100,000 prize. Little do they know that they have actually been tricked into taking part in a massive jewel smuggling operation. This film features the following muscial numbers: "The Boys and Girls of Rock and Roll," "Off to See the World," "Getting Lucky," "My Mother," "Diamond Dolls," "Wooly Booly," and "I, Yi, Yi, Yi, Yi (I Cuanto le Gusta)," as well as an instrumental score composed by Randy Edelman.
