Always a Bride is an adventurous film which centers around a conniving man and his daughter as they scheme wealthy vacationers out of their fortunes. This quirky 1953 film was written and directed by Ralph Smart and stars Peggy Cummins, Terence Morgan, and Ronald Squire. Victor Hemsley (Ronald Squire) and his daughter Clare (Peggy Cummins) frequent the French Riviera, but for different reasons than most - they are there to inconspicuously rob rich travelers of their fortunes. Posing as a married couple, Clare 'baits' them in by pretending as though her husband is leaving her with no more than 100 dollars to her name. This scheme usually proves successful for the duo, but plans shift focus when Clare meets a perceptive bureaucrat named Terence (Terence Morgan). Can Clare and her father evade Mr. Terence? A clever British comedy for all those who enjoy watching a good con. Think Matchstick Men or Catch Me if You Can, only 50 years older.
