Amazing Grace is a 1974 comedy film that focuses on Grace (Moms Mable), a church-going grandmother and widow. Fed up with the officials of her city not caring about real issues, Grace vows to take a stand for herself and her neighbors. She begins to spy on her neighbor, ex-convict Welton Waters (Moses Gunn) and his alcoholic wife, Creola (Rosalind Cash). Grace finds out Welton is running for mayor in the upcoming election and he is being used by shady politicians as a pawn. To add to Welton's problems, Creola becomes deceitful toward him. Grace confronts Welton about the information regarding the rigged race and they decide she would make a great campaign manager. She begins spying on politicians to gather information for Welton to run a clean campaign. She even creates a heart touching speech for Welton. Does Welton win the election and become the new mayor?
