America So Beautiful takes a down-to-earth look at the American dream and the lengths to which immigrants and citizens go in order to fashion better lives for themselves. The film focuses on a band of Iranian immigrants as they travel to Los Angeles in an attempt to assimilate into the American culture and way of life. Houshang (Mansour) believes his ticket to a lucrative career is to invest in a disco club in the late 1970s. He must, however, come up with the money to invest in this business and aims to convince his family members to help him do so. When he takes them out for a night at the club, a series of events presents Houshang with a strange and candid view of his ambitions and morals. He realizes that he must discover who he is as a person in the absence of his peers' viewpoints and separate from American culture.
