American Beer is a 1996 Canadian comedy directed by Grant Harvey. In the film, four friends, Al (Scott Urquhart), Martin (C. Adam Leigh), Drew (Jordan Kawchuck) and Curt (Jason Thompson), are packing up to head out on a road trip from Alberta, Canada, to a beach in California. The friends primary goal is to drink good beer and have a good time. The car they are traveling in is a run-down junker, but they have no concerns about the great distance they will be traveling in the vehicle. When the car breaks down in the middle of the Badlands, the men immediately know they need an alternator. After some bickering, they decide the best course of action is to split up and meet back when someone has an alternator. Each friend has a beer-induced adventure while searching for the car part. Unless they can find their part and get the car running the success of the road trip is in jeopardy.moreless
