American Guys is a comedy drama about the misadventures of four bachelor roommates who can't pay the rent. As they are evicted, Ray (Thomas Wilson Brown) is in the midst of trying to start a romantic relationship with their neighbor across the street. Ray and Steve (Bernie Coulson) go camping as a cheap way to get out of their potential homeless situation, but are soon chased out of the campgrounds by a family of hillbillies. As Ray becomes more attached to his ex-neighbor, he learns that her boyfriend has been abusive. Outraged, he insists that the woman and her son come with him. The situation comes to a head as other neighbors, sick of the commotion, call the police. In retaliation against Ray, the ex-boyfriend tells the cops that Ray kidnapped the woman and child. As the situation escalates, the roommates worry about a few not-quite-legal gadgets that might be found in a police search of the apartment.moreless
