Amnesia: The James Brighton Enigma is a dramatic film about an American that is found in Montreal, Canada without any memory of how he got there. When a beaten, naked, young man (Dusan Dukic) appears in a parking lot in a run down section of Montreal, the confusion for those around him grows as he does not remember who he is or how he got there. All that he knows, revealed through therapy sessions, is that he is gay, and that he believes to be named James Brighton. The amnesia stricken stranger is taken to a gay crisis center, where he begins to develop friendships, learns French, and gradually reveals more about his past with every new day. Meanwhile, a criminology student named Sylvie (Karyne Lemieux) takes an interest in his specific case, and as more and more evidence is revealed, James' sudden memory loss is thought to be a result of a severe trauma. But as the truth is uncovered, more questions arise, leaving James and the members of his new life wondering just how much of this story is worth knowing. Denis Langlois directs this compelling mystery based on true events.moreless
