Amy is a drama that features the story of a mother (Jenny Agutter) who has just lost her son to a terrible illness. Despite her son's deafness, she had developed a great bond with him and his loss left a huge void in her life. Unable to cope with the loss of her son and the abuse she suffered from her husband, Amy eventually leaves him and decides to become a teacher for the deaf. She dedicates her life to helping her students overcome their condition so that they can live life to the fullest and enjoy the most normal lives possible. This work brings comfort and solace to Amy's life, as she cares about her students in the same way one would for their own children. There is one boy in particular who is struggling the most to speak. No matter how hard he tries at school, he just cannot learn. Amy takes it upon herself to teach him, day and night, and vows she will not give up until he can speak. Will she be able to teach the boy, or will this prove a step too far for Amy?
