An Old Fashioned Thanksgiving is a holiday Hallmark film that is based on Louisa Mae Alcott's book of the same name. It is set in New Hampshire during the years after the Civil War and it follows the story of a young mother, Isabella (Jacqueline Bissett). Isabella is a recently widowed mother with three young children. She is determined to raise her children in spite of the fact that she lost her husband and they lost their father in the Civil War. When Thanksgiving is right around the corner, Isabella wants to make the holiday special for the kids, but doesn't know how to do it. Without her knowledge, Isabelle's daughter contacts her wealthy, estranged grandmother and asks her for help. The family comes together at the holiday to celebrate their relationship and the fact that they all still have their health and happiness, even though Isabelle's husband and the children's father was killed in the war.
