Movie Summary

And Now for Something Completely Different is a 1971 comedy film containing ninety minutes of the best Monty Python sketches from the first two seasons of the hugely successful Monty Python's Flying Circus. The television series did very well in its first two seasons in England, but American audiences had not yet been exposed to the landmark comedy troupe's unique blend of absurdist and childish humor. The film includes several of the Python's most famous sketches, including Nudge Nudge, The Flasher, The Funniest Joke in the World, Dead Parrot, The Lumberjack Song, and Upper Class Twit of the Year. The film features the wacky transitions between sketches that are Monty Python's trademark, including John Cleese saying the eponymous catch phrase in various compromising positions, as well as Terry Gilliam's notoriously bizarre animations. And Now for Something Completely Different is the first Monty Python feature film, soon followed by the classics Monty Python and the Holy Grail and Life of Brian.moreless
