And Soon the Darkness is a 1970 film directed by Robert Fuest. Nurses Jane (Pamela Franklin) and Cathy (Michele Dotrice) are on a cycling holiday in France. On their ride, the two friends stop at a cafe to plan their route. Jane has her eyes on the map, but Cathy has her eyes on a handsome man (Sandor El's). Upon leaving the cafe, the two are cycling along when they are passed by the same handsome man zooming by on a Lambretta TV series III moped. After seeing the man again resting, Jane wants to move forward while Cathy wants to rest. Jane goes on alone while Cathy sunbathes. Jane stops at another cafe and is warned that it is a dangerous area. She goes back to find Cathy, but it is too late. Jane does not know who she can trust in this strange land with her only friend having been murdered.
