In 1979, he decided to wrestle a woman on the late-night comedy show, Saturday Night Live. The audience response to Kaufman's "inter-gender wrestling" was mystified horror, which thrilled the anarchic comedian. Kaufman began touring the country, wrestling women in any venue available, including his own home.
