Angry Harvest (Bittere Ernte) is a drama that tells the story of one man's decision to choose between right and wrong. Leon (Armin Mueller-Stahl) is a middle-aged man of German decent who lives in Poland during World War II. He is a prosperous farmer who attends church on a regular basis. Although he does not like seeing his Jewish friends taken to concentration camps, he does not do anything to stop it. One day, Leon meets a Jewish woman, Rosa (Elisabeth Trissenaar), who claims that her whole family has been taken to a concentration camp while she was able to jump off a train. Leon is undecided what to do with her -- on one hand, he feels the Christian thing to do would be to take her in, but he does not want to get into trouble by doing so. Leon makes his decision and its consequences change his life forever. Angry Harvest (Bittere Ernte) was directed and written by Agnieszka Holland.moreless
