Annie is the 1982 American musical film directed by John Huston and starring Aileen Quinn, Albert Finney, and Carol Burnett. Adapted from the hit Broadway musical, the film tells the story of Little Orphan Annie (Quinn), who lives under the watch of Miss Hannigan (Burnett) at an orphanage in New York City. When Grace Farrell (Ann Reinking) visits the orphanage on behalf of conservative politician Oliver Warbucks (Finney), she brings Annie back to the Warbucks estate in hopes of improving Oliver's image with his constituents. Annie charms her way into the hearts of those at the estate, including the servants and visiting politicians. When Warbucks decides to offer a reward for anyone who can locate Annie's real parents, Miss Hannigan and her accomplices Rooster (Tim Curry) and Lily (Bernadette Peters) decide to scam Warbucks out of his money. Annie's tenacity cannot be stifled, however, and soon she shows the whole country that her hope for tomorrow keeps her happy to live for today.moreless
