Another Thin Man is a 1939 mystery directed by W.S. Van Dyke and based on a story by crime novelist Samuel Dashiell Hammett. Married couple and amateur detectives, Nick Charles (William Powell) and his wife Nora (Myrna Loy) are back in this third installment of the six part series of mystery thrillers. Once again the couple finds themselves involved in a murder mystery. This time the couple travels to Long Island with their newborn son to investigate who is making death threats against wealthy businessman Colonel Burr MacFay (C. Aubrey Smith). It quickly becomes clear that a rival, Phil Church (Sheldon Leonard), is behind the threats. When MacFay is murdered, Church becomes the main suspect. However, the evidence is not conclusive. and everyone, from the domestic staff, to family and friends seems to have motives for killing MacFay. Can Nick and Nora discover the real murder before an innocent man goes to jail?
