Apache Rose, produced in 1947, is a western set on the Pacific Coast. Roy Rogers (Roy Rogers) is an oil prospector who has just purchased a ranch for its potential oil reserves. He arranges to have his drilling equipment shipped on a local tugboat, the Apache Rose, owned by Billie Colby (Dale Evans). While he is waiting for the equipment to arrive, Roy explores the area with his horse Trigger and discovers oil on an adjacent ranch owned by the Vega family. Roy wants the mineral rights to the land, as does Reed Calhoun (George Meeker), a powerful land speculator. Carlos Vega (Russ Vincent) agrees to sell the ranch to Calhoun, although his sister, Rosa (Donna DeMario), the co-owner of the ranch, doesn't want to sell. After an attempt is made on Rosa's life, Roy suspects that Carlos is being coerced into selling. Roy and Billie team up to figure out what Calhoun is up to and help save the Vegas ranch.moreless
