Apache Uprising is a 1965 American Western film from director R.G. Springsteen that tells the story of cowboy Jim Walker (Rory Calhoun), a reformed gunslinger who gets pulled back into the action during a stagecoach robbery. Jim is riding shotgun, accompanied by his girlfriend Janice (Corrine Calvet), as a favor for his friend Charlie Russell (Lon Chaney), the coach's driver. Psychotic killers Toby Jack (DeForest Kelley) and Jess Cooney (Gene Evans) take control of the coach to rob the $80,000 gold shipment they believe is on the train. Jack and Cooney have been hired by the mysterious Vance Buckner (John Russell) to rob the train before it makes its next stop. When the train is overtaken by raiding Apaches on the warpath, the robbers and their victims must band together to survive. Fans of DeForest Kelley will be surprised to see Kelley in this crazed, violent, pre-Star Trek role as Toby Jack.
