Appointment with Crime is a British film noir from 1945, directed by John Harlow. Leo Martin (William Hartnell) is a small time gangster who gets involved in a big time jewelry heist with dance club owner, Loman (Raymond Lovell). When the heist gets botched, Leo takes the fall for his cohorts and his wrists are broken during his arrest. Loman and his driver Hatchett (Victor Weske) make a clean get away. Leo doesn't rat them out and does his stint in prison spending his days thinking about revenge. When Leo gets out of prison, Loman gives him the brush off because Leo's hands are no good anymore. This infuriates Leo and spurns him on for revenge against Loman. Leo attempts to frame Loman for murder but Inspector Rogers (Robert Beattie) suspects that perhaps Leo is behind it all. This film noir features interesting characters and a plot with enough surprises to please any fan of the genre.
