Arizona Bushwackers is an Old West tale set in the Post-Civil War era. Southern gunfighter Lee Travis (Howard Keel) is offered a pardon for joining the rebellion against the Union if he would be willing to travel West on behalf of the country. He goes willingly until he ends up in the dead-end town of Colton, a town plagued with crime and threatened by the Apache. Travis continues to serve as a spy and double agent for the South. At the same time, he becomes confused and frustrated by the double-crossing behavior of local saloon keeper Tom Rile (Scott Brady). Rile seems to be successfully smuggling weapons to the Apache for his own profits, and Lee slowly becomes the true defender and hero to this lost town. However, in the empty deserts of Arizona, law and order are going to have to give way to handy gunslinging and strong fists if justice is to prevail.
