Arranged, directed by Diane Crespo and Stefan C. Schaefer, premiered at the 2007 South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas. The movie is an independent drama about the unlikely friendship between Rochel Meshenberg (Zoe Lister Jones), an Orthodox Jew, and Nasira Khaldi (Francis Benhamou), a devout Muslim. The two 20-something-year-old teachers first meet at a multi-ethnic public school in Brooklyn, New York, where Rochel provides special needs aid for a blind boy and Nasira teaches a fourth grade class. The children at the school assume that all Jews and all Muslims are arch enemies that want to kill each other. Rochel and Nasira decide to work together to dispel the prejudice thoughts of the children. Through the course of the school year, Rochel and Nasira discover that they have a lot in common, including trying to find a husband through their respective religious community's traditional systems of arranged marriage, and become good friends.
