Arrest Bulldog Drummond is an American adventure film released in 1939 by Paramount Pictures. John Howard stars as Captain Hugh "Bulldog" Drummond. The war-time plot centers around a science fiction theme in which an experimental weapon capable of exploding anything with a deadly electrical ray has been stolen and its British inventor murdered by a villain identified only as "The Stinger." Scotland Yard and part-time detective Bulldog Drummond work to track down the weapon and bring the murderer to justice. The cast of characters includes Heather Angle as Bulldog's bride-to-be Phyllis Clavering, H.B. Warner as Colonel Nielson of Scotland Yard and Reginald Denny as Algy Longworth, Bulldog's longtime friend and partner in detection. The film is based on a series of books written by British author Herman C. (Sapper) McNeile. Arrest Bulldog Drummond is the twelfth Bulldog Drummond movie in the highly popular film series and was directed by James P. Hogan.
