Arthur 2: On the Rocks is the hilarious sequel that gives ongoing life to the hilarious Dudley Moore character. The first movie is a love story about a happy drunk and heir to millions. This film picks up with Arthur on the rocks, losing most of his nearly billion dollar fortune. Now he is just a sad, penniless alcoholic who is being forced to grow up and live in the real world. He's still in love with Linda Boch (Liza Minelli), but she is ready to begin a family and has serious questions about whether or not Arthur can take responsibility. The two begin the process of adoption, but it remains to be seen whether Arthur's typical wit and charm can sufficiently pull the wool over the eyes of Mrs. Canby (Kathy Bates), who oversees the process. Meanwhile Susan (Cynthia Sikes), the jilted other woman from the first movie, offers the only thing that might restore Arthur's fortune: her own hand in marriage.moreless
