As Young As We Are is a 1958 drama that flips the male teacher - female student phenomena on its head by featuring a young woman teacher mistakenly dating a male student. In the decades since the movie was released, the American public began to actively work against teachers who carry on relations with their students. American film audiences subsequently also learned of the female teacher as a predator in films like To Die For. In this film, Kim Hutchins (Pippa Scott) and Joyce Goodwin (Majel Barrett) head to tiny town Rosario to become school marms. They meet a nice young man, Hank Moore (Robert Harland) that helps them out of a bind and ends up dating Kim. Everything proceeds swimmingly until Kim shows up to teach her first class and realizes that Hank is one of her students. The ensuing awkwardness and tension lead to a suspenseful climax. Viewers watching this movie might note that Majel Barrett is better known as Nurse Chapel on the original Star Trek series.moreless
