With the American embassy brushing his disappearance off as a side ÒtripÓ with a mistress, Shelley continues trying to find out what happened. Thankfully, her reporter old flame Dick Sherman (Hugh O'Brien) is also in Rome investigating an interesting drug-related murder. Utilizing Dick's contacts to Police Inspector Baudi (Alberto Closas), he and Shelley begin a partnership in a hope to discover just why the dead man has Shelley's husband Bill on his contact list. It is all cloak and dagger as they discover a darker world of drug smuggling, the Italian mafia, and international espionage.
