B Monkey is a 1998 film directed by Michael Radford and starring Asia Argenton and Jared Harris . London schoolteacher Alan (Harris) spends his days in the classroom but his nights as a DJ for a hospital PA. After his job as a DJ, Alan heads to the local bar only to discover Beatrice (Argenton), who is caught in a fight with two men. Immediately Alan is captivated by her beauty and falls madly in love with her. What Alan doesn't know is that Beatrice is known as "B. Monkey," a name given to her by the police for her uncanny ability to break into anything. The two become romantically entangled, and when Alan learns of her illicit behavior, he attempts to show her a way out. Things go awry when Alan finds himself immersed in her world of petty thievery. Also starring Rupert Everett and Jonathan Rhys Meyers, B. Monkey received mixed reviews upon its release.
