2008
Rating:
PG-13
Baby Mama is a comedic film directed by Michael McCullers that takes a comical and witty look behind one woman's journey to motherhood. Kate Holbrook (Tina Fey) had made a success of herself. She was successful as her hippy dippy health food store guru boss (Steve Martin) right hand executive with a beautiful Philadelphia apartment and amazing financial security. When she reaches thirty-seven, Kate finds herself desperate for a baby. Unfortunately, she has very little chance of becoming pregnant, both the natural or scientific way, so she seeks out a surrogacy. The uptight control freak of an executive finds she bit off more than she could chew with her surrogate, the fashion-minded and outrageous white trash Angie Ostrowski (Amy Poehler). The two get along like riled cats and dogs and when they finally fall upon an agreed upon truce, Angie's idiotic ex-common law husband stumbles in with some news that threatens Kate's chances of a family. Baby Mama is full of quirky comedic moments well played by the former Saturday Night Live actresses.moreless
