Bachelor Flat, a 1962 comedy, was both written and directed by Frank Tashlin. Archeology professor Bruce Patterson (Terry-Thomas) moves into his girlfriend Helen's (Celeste Holm) apartment during her trip to Paris. Patterson is plagued by his adoring female students, many of whom make every effort to gain entrance to his temporary bachelor flat. If that was not enough action, one of the neighbors has a dachshund going crazy over the dinosaur bone Patterson keeps with him, providing a little sight comedy. When Helen's daughter, Libby (Tuesday Weld), arrives at her mother's home, Patterson sends her packing, as Helen had purposely not told her beau she had an earlier life and a child. Sly Libby tricks Patterson into saving her by acting like a street kid who needs guidance, and she finally does move into her mother's apartment, just under false pretenses. The plot thickens when neighbor Mike (Richard Beymer) goads Patterson into turning the tables on the persistent college students, urging him to pursue them instead, just in time for Helen's return.moreless
