PG-13
Back To School is a comedy that features a father and son duo taking a crack at higher education. Thornton Melon (Rodney Dangerfield) is a self-made millionaire who wants to keep his son Jason (Keith Gordon) from dropping out of college. Thornton takes a hiatus from running his "Tall and Fat" clothing stores and enrolls in Grand Lakes University with his son. Dr. Phillip Barbay (Paxton Whitehead) is the dean of the business school and takes an immediate dislike to Thornton. The situation does not improve when Thornton strikes up a romance with Sally Kellerman (Dr. Diane Turner), another professor at the school who happened to be dating Dr. Barbay. When Barbay discovers that not everything is as it seems with Thornton's academic pursuits, the Melon family must pull together in order for him to pass. Can the Melon family produce a pair of graduates, or will their lackadaisical attitudes be the end of their higher education? Watch this 1986 film, directed by Alan Metter, to find out.moreless
