Backgammon: Survival of the Misfits is a 2001 comedy directed by Ziri Rideaux. The film is set in the future and in a world that has used up nearly all of its resources, and even food is becoming a commodity that is hard to buy. A group of seven friends including Maia (Wendy Braun), Zorro (Angela Marsden), Rosy (K.W. Miller), Karsten (Josh Coxx), Mark (Armin Marewski), Olly (Michael Amos) and Guido (Patrick Rideaux) are trying to survive in their world. They refer to themselves as the misfits because they do not want to fit into the greed and corruption that is ruining the world around them. They realize that they work all day to pay for a nice car, nice clothes, fake nails and all the other luxuries, but the more they have the more they want. This group of renegades try to live differently than the majority of the people by not being so greedy and selfish.
