Bad Girls is a Western film released in 1994 that takes a departure from traditional Westerns in that its focus is the story of four women. Directed by Johnathon Kaplan, Bad Girls is the story of Cody (Madeleine Stowe), Anita (Mary Stuart Masterson), Eileen (Andie MacDowell) and the wild Lilly (Drew Barrymore), four former prostitutes trying to turn their lives around. The story starts with Anita fighting off the advances of a drunk colonel who is intent on raping her. Forced into action, Cody shoots and kills the colonel, landing her in jail on murder charges. When their friend is unjustly sentenced to death, Anita, Eileen and Lilly must come to her rescue. Sprung from jail, the four women must go on the run, outpacing the Pinkerton detectives who are hot on their heels. Bad Girls is an entertaining film that will appeal to anybody, but will certainly be appreciated by fans of the Western genre. With shoot-outs, roping and riding, and a little romance thrown in, Bad Girls is a great choice for fans of the Old West.moreless
