Balance of Power is a 1996 action thriller directed by Rick Bennett. It tells the story of martial arts instructor, Niko (Billy Blanks), who spends his time teaching discipline and dedication to the city kids, keeping them out of criminal acts in the streets. Hastishita (Denis Akiyama), the local drug lord who organizes brutal fight matches, asks Niko to get involved in some underground activity. When he turns down the offer, the criminal sends out his outlaws to kill his favorite student. Upon receiving the news Niko's heart is shred to pieces and he starts looking for revenge. He will try to destroy the organization from within by infiltrating it and participating in their fight contest. Although he is a skillful fighter, he seems to be seriously challenged by mighty Takamura (James Lew), the man who killed his dear student. Niko trains and prepares not only his body, but also his soul for the final match against the murderer.
