Barbershop 2: Back in Business is a 2004 sequel to the original Barbershop starring Ice Cube and Cedric the Entertainer. The movie picks up where Barbershop left off: Calvin Palmer Jr. (Ice Cube) has flourished as the new owner of his grandfather's barbershop which lies somewhere in the city of Chicago . Calvin becomes a little uncomfortable when he learns a real estate tyrant named Quentin Leroux (Harry Lennix) is setting up a barbershop much like his own, right across the street from him. And inside Calvin's barber shop, his employees are going through issues of their own. Calvin, at the center of this whole mess, has to juggle his employees, and the issues he faces concerning the new competition across the street. Things take a turn for the worse when Quentin hands Calvin a hefty amount of money and asks him to stand behind the city's pro-gentrification cause. Will Calvin succumb to this attractive deal, or fight the impact of gentrification that surrounds his neighborhood?moreless
