The Barbie Diaries is a 2006 computer animated movie in the Barbie movie series, featuring Mattels beloved character, Barbie. In this movie, Barbie (Kelly Sheridan) is a typical American high school student, starting a new year with big plans. From making new friends, to performing with her band, to becoming an anchor at the schools television station, Barbie knows exactly what she wants. But when, on the first day of school, snobby Raquelle (Chiara Zanni) gets the job as news anchor and Barbie is stuck being Raquelles assistant, things are off to a rocky start. When Barbie finds out that Raquelle is dating that boy that she has a crush on, Todd (Andrew Francis), it only makes things look grimmer. So when, while shopping with her friends, Barbie stumbles upon a diary and charm bracelet that, like magic, turns her life around so that everything works out how she wants it to, she is thrilled. But when she starts to become popular, Barbie neglects her real friends. Is being popular really what she wants? Are the diary and bracelet really magical? And will it all blow up in her face?
