Bat 21 is an action film about the desperate attempt to rescue a downed Air Force officer during the final days of the Vietnam War. During a flight of the top secret EB-66 electronic warfare airplane, weapons expert Lieutenant Colonel Gene Hambleton (Gene Hackman) is shot down by enemy fire. Knowing that the North Vietnamese are hot on his tail, Hambleton desperately tries to avoid capture. He succeeds in making radio contact with Captain Bartholomew Clark (Danny Glover) and the two work together to assist in Hambleton's rescue. Because Hambleton is located in such a dangerous area, the U.S. military is unwilling to send in rescue plans so Hambleton must work with Clark to escape capture by the North Vietnamese and make his way to a safe rescue spot. Fearful that the North Vietnamese are monitoring their communications, Clark and Hambleton speak in a code that relies on historic golf courses where Hambleton has played. But will the men succeed in getting Hambleton to safety before the North Vietnamese find him?moreless
