Battle Creek Brawl, also known as The Big Brawl in some countries, is a 1980 martial arts film and the first American film to feature the then-rising star of international action movies, Jackie Chan. The film takes place in Chicago, Illinois circa 1930, when the mean streets were ruled with an iron fist by the vicious Mafia gangs. Chan plays Jerry Kwan, a Chinese American fighter who enjoys a comfortable life with his family's restaurant business and his pretty, young girlfriend Nancy (Kristine DeBell). One day, the Mafia cracks down on his family's restaurant, demanding an exorbitant tribute from the small business. Young Jerry lashes out at the mobsters, defeating them handedly and catching the eye of the mob bosses. Intrigued by the young man's martial arts talent, they force Jerry to travel to Texas for an arena fighting competition. Jerry will have to train hard if he hopes to protect his family back home and survive the brutal blows of the Battle Creek Brawl.moreless
