Battle of Los Angeles, not to be confused with Battle: Los Angeles, is a 2011 SyFy thriller with an action-packed alien invasion at it's core. Mark Atkins (Shadow People) directs with a sarcastic style that mocks the abundance of familiar summer blockbuster action movies. Seventy years ago, the United States led a mission into outer space and attempted to stage an invasion against extra terrestrial territory. They failed in their mission to conquer the universe and life on Earth continued as it did before - until one day when the aliens decided to seek vengeance. Suddenly, hundreds of spacecrafts hover above the city of Los Angeles. One of the few people confronting the challenge is a woman named Karla (Nia Peeples) who leads a group of extra terrestrial-fighting soldiers. The film also stars Kel Mitchell who plays a guardsman. Overall, a great film for those who enjoy films like Whats Up and Transmorphers.
