Beach Blanket Bingo is the fourth installment of the very popular beach party movies starring teen idols Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello. These fun and breezy musical comedies follow the wacky adventures of a returning set of characters. This 1965 film begins with Frankie (Frankie Avalon) and Dee Dee (Annette Funicello) singing the theme song on the beach, when Bonnie (Deborah Walley) sky dives into the ocean and requires saving. Bonnie is posing as singer Sugar Kane (Linda Evans) as part of a publicity stunt dreamed up by her manager Bullets (Paul Lynde). The beach gang decides to take skydiving lessons from Bonnie and her fellow instructor, Steve (John Ashley) at Big Drop's (Don Rickles) school. Romantic complications erupt between instructors and students. Bonehead (Jody McCrea) falls for a mermaid named Lorelei (Marta Kristen). Meanwhile, the real Sugar gets kidnapped by Eric Von Zipper (Harvey Lembeck) and his Malibu Rat Pack motorcycle gang.
