Beauty and the Beast is a 1987 romantic family drama directed by Eugene Marner. In the film, Beauty (Rebecca De Mornay) is a selfless woman who works tirelessly to take care of her family. Her family includes her hopeless father (Yossi Graber) and her narcissistic, selfish sisters, Isabella (Ruth Harlap) and Bettina (Carmela Marner). While her father makes bad financial decisions and her sister's worry about catching wealthy husbands, Beauty takes care of the house and makes sure everyone's needs are met. Unfortunately for Beauty, her father makes a terrible wager with a mysterious man, Beast (John Savage), who lives in an equally mysterious castle, and ends up owing the man a fortune. When her father cannot pay the man, Beast is extremely angry. Being that Beauty always puts her family before herself she offers to take care of her father's debt. Now, Beauty must adapt to a new life. Will she ever be happy?
