Behind Enemy Lines is a 2001 action and suspense film directed by John Moore. The film follows the story of Lieutenant Chris Burnett (Owen Wilson), a flight navigator with the United States Armed Forces. Burnett and his pilot, Lieutenant Jeremy Stackhouse (Gabriel Macht), are flying over severely conflicted Bosnia when they alter their course due to a suggestion by Burnett. Burnett is suspicious as to the activities that the Bosnian Serbs might be engaged in within the demilitarized zone adjacent to their flight path, and he coaxes Stackhouse into a fly over so that they can photograph it. The local Bosnian commander spots the aircraft and has it shot down. Stackhouse is injured in the crash, but Burnett is not severely harmed and leaves the site to try and contact his commander. He returns to see Stackhouse executed by Bosnian forces, who soon begin to chase him as well. As he flees he realizes that the photographs he took are evidence of the genocide that is being carried out by Bosnian Commander Lokar (Olek Krupa).
