Behind the Nine is a 2003 suspense thriller about an underground high stakes pool tournament. Suburban slacker Alex (Derek Seiling) has found a way to make a living without working. He runs an illegal nine-ball tournament out of his house, with the help of his lovely fianc''e Beth (Muretta Moss). Once the winner's pot grows to half a million dollars, Alex worries that someone might try to steal the prize rather than win it. For the last night of the tournament, Beth brings her sexy friend Wendy (Ashley Duffy), who also happens to be the sheriff's daughter. Alex asks former heavyweight boxer Mouse (Scott Robinson) to provide back-up. Alex will need the help. The local organized crime syndicate knows about the game, and has sent an operative to mix in with the other players. Martin L. Kelley wrote and directed this 2003 action drama about a small-time hustler coming up against the big time.
