Bella follows two people on a crash course with destiny in New York City. Jos'' (Eduardo Verastegui) is a chef at an upscale restaurant in Manhattan. When waitress Nina (Tammy Blanchard) rushes in late for her shift again, the owner fires her on the spot. Jos'' quits his job and rushes outside to make sure she's OK. Nina confides she just learned she is pregnant and, because she's not sure she's ready for the responsibility of raising a child, she's considering having an abortion. He decides to talk with her about her choices, help her find a new job and take her to meet his warm-hearted family in Long Island. The two confide their most painful, private moments to each other. Jos'' offers to stand by Nina as she makes one of the most difficult decisions of her life. The 2007 film from Alejandro Gomez Monteverde, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Patrick Million, took the People's Choice Award at the 2006 Toronto International Film Festival.moreless
