Rating:

Below the Belt is a light hearted story about a young waitress that pursues a side career in professional wrestling to spice up her life. Rosa Rubinsky (Regina Baff) longs for more excitement and wealth in life than her job as a waitress in New York City can provide. Seeking out anything and everything that might transform her existence into something more meaningful and lucrative, she finds it in the form of women's professional wrestling. Rubinsky catches on quick, and before long she is tearing up the Midwest wresting circuit as her alter ego, The Mexican Spitfire. Living a new and exciting, very slightly bizarre life, she falls slightly short of fame and fortune, but finds something much valuable. Robert Fowler directs this endearing low budget film about seeking joy in life.
