1984
Rating:

Best Defense is a 1984 comedy featuring Dudley Moore and Eddie Murphy. Wylie Cooper (Dudley Moore) is the designer of a targeting system used on tanks employed by the American Army. Lieutenant T.M. Landry (Eddie Murphy) is a tank operator using the tank developed by Moore years earlier. During the film, the two never meet, but their lives are intertwined. In the opening of the movie, we discover Wylie is both incompetent at his job, and couldn't care less. He works for a sinister company who knowingly falsifies records and test results on the targeting system Wylie has developed, even though the system is deeply flawed. Over the course of the film, Wylie grows a conscience and decides that he will make sure at least one part of his design is a success. Cooper is a member of the troops invading Kuwait and he is put in a malfunctioning tank designed by Wylie.
