Bette Midler: The Showgirl Must Go On was a Las Vegas show starring the artist Bette Midler. The performance ran from 2008 to 2010 at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. With typically flamboyant costumes and trademark witty banter, Midler performed a total of 300 shows over this period. The set list, comprising many favorite songs, included hits like "Do You Want to Dance?", "When a Man Loves a Woman", "Pretty Legs, Big Knockers" and "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy." The performance was choreographed by Toni Basil, with costume design provided by Constance Hoffman. Over half a million tickets were sold, resulting in box office takings in excess of $70 million. The two-hour long show was pared down for broadcast on HBO on New Years Eve, 2010, with a DVD subsequently released in October 2011. The success of this popular Vegas show led to Midler being nominated for an Emmy award for 'Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Special.'
