Betty is a dark and unconventional 1999 comedy centered around a woman who suffers from a mid life crisis and is nowhere to be found. The film was written and directed by Richard Murphy (Dandelions). Betty (Cheryl Pollak - My Best Friend Is a Vampire, Crossing the Bridge) is a Hollywood A-lister with more than a handful of successful roles under her belt. She is sought after by every movie director, and yet, she is unhappy with her life. One day, while she works on a $70 million dollar set, she decides to quit her job as a super star, and escapes to Palm Springs. Poolside, drink in hand, Betty reassesses her career and attempts to reassume a normal life. But after several strange days in the desert, Betty asks herself if there is such thing as a 'normal life'. A classic comedy with a satirical spin, Betty is guaranteed to rise a couple chuckles in you. With a stellar cast including Holland Taylor (The Powers That Be, The Practice, Two and a Half Men), Udo Kier (Blade, The Idiots, Antichrist), and Ron Perlman (Hellboy, Teen Titans), whats not to love?moreless
