Billie is a 1965 comedy directed by Dan Weis. The film stars a young teenaged girl, Billie (Patty Duke), who joins the track team and quickly becomes a star. She thinks about her favorite rock and roll music when she runs because she believes that she is able to run faster by staying in step with the music. She is able to run faster than most of the boys on the team and the track coach asks her to join the boy's track team. Although her father, Howard Carol (Jim Backus), always wished for a little girl, he is furious when he finds out that she has joined the boy's team. He is running for mayor and worries that his daughter's antics will destroy his chances of winning. Billie soon finds out that running with the boys may cause more problems than its worth, especially with her boyfriend Mike Benson (Richard Decon).
