Bittersweet (styled "Bitter/Sweet" on the movie posters and DVD cover) is a romantic comedy about a businessman meeting a woman on his travels. The film introduces us to Brian Chandler (Kip Pardue), who is happily engaged and works for Calvert Jenkins (James Brolin). Unexpectedly, Jenkins decides to send Brian to a coffee plantation in Thailand to inspect a coffee crop he wishes to purchase. The coffee plantation asks Ticha (Tata Young), a public relations executive originally from a small village, to represent them during Brian's visit and convince him to approve the purchase. She initially refuses, but when her village and her parents push her to it, she reluctantly agrees. At first, Brian and Ticha can't stand each other, but when they get to the plantation, they start to develop a relationship that reaches far beyond a normal business deal for a purchase. This poses a dilemma for Brian, as he must choose between his feelings for Ticha, and his fidelity to his fianc''e who is waiting back home. This film won the awards for Best Director and Best Film at WorldFest Houston.moreless
