Black Belt Jones is an action film that focuses on the owner of a karate school named Pop Byrd (Scatman Crothers). Because he did not have the funds to open his school, Pop was forced to borrow money from a man named Pinky (Malik Carter). Pinky had gotten the money by stealing it from the Mafia. Meanwhile, the mafia is trying to buy the land that Pop's school is on, but Pop refuses to sell. When the Mafia finds out about Pinky's theft, they tell him he can either pay them back $250,000 or get Pop to sell his building. Pinky decides to instead increase the interest on his loan to Pop, in the hopes that Pop will not be able to repay him and will take the offer to sell his school to the Mafia. When things go terribly wrong, Black Belt Jones (Jim Kelly), a martial arts expert, steps in to fight off the Mafia and protect the karate school.moreless
