Black Brigade is the DVD title for the low budget dramatic television film 'Carter's Army' which was an ABC movie of the week on January 27th, 1970. The plot reveals around Beau Carter, a white redneck War Officer (Stephen Boyd) in World War II who has been put in charge of Company B, a squad of all black troops who have been given a suicide mission called 'Operation London Bridge.' The mission is to secure a strategically important hydro dam in Nazi Germany. Company B has had no true military training, other than how to dig graves and latrines. So it is up to Officer Carter to get his company prepared for the mission in only a few days. He trains his company and leads the group in to secure the dam, and save the day heroically. The film contains early performances by Richard Pryor, Billy Dee Williams and Rosie Grier amongst others such as Robert Hooks and Moses Gunn.
