Black Hills is a musical western filled with action, deception and murder. Rancher Hadley (Steve Clark) discovers gold on his property. Despite his efforts to keep news of the find from leaking out, saloon owner Kirby (Terry Frost) hears about it and plots to steal the riches. He kills the elderly rancher and tries to force his heirs Larry Hadley (Steve Drake) and Janet (Shirley Patterson) from their property. Eddie Dean (Eddie Dean) and sidekick Soapy Jones (Roscoe Aytes) are on their way to help Larry and Janet defend their property from the villainous Kirby. With his efforts to steal the land thwarted, Kirby looks to land clerk Tuttle (William Fawcett) to orchestrate an underhanded land deal. Helping Eddie fight the saloon owner and to offer a few cowboy tunes are the Plainsmen (led by Andy Parker). Songs include "Black Hills", "Let's Go Sparkin'", and "Punchinello". This was Eddie Dean's last theatrical appearance though he appeared in several television series. The 1948 film was directed by Ray Taylor.moreless
